What’s Blooming in Blairstown
August 2023
What’s Happening Now?
In July, Clara, the granddaughter of the farmer I worked with two decades ago, visited our farm. She spent three weeks learning flower harvesting and preparation for the cooperative we sell to. Despite enduring scorching days, Clara's dedicated help was greatly appreciated. We're grateful for the connection with this farm family and hope she can visit again next summer.
Thank you for being part of our journey, Clara!
See you at the farm!

Watering Tips for a Blooming August!
We are thrilled to see our flowers blooming happily after receiving several inches of much-needed water in July. As we step into August, we want to remind you that proper watering is crucial for the health and vitality of your garden plants.
Most garden plants require at least one inch of water EVERY WEEK. To help you keep track, we encourage everyone to get a rain gauge. Sometimes, it may seem like we've had enough rain, but it might not be sufficient to keep your plants happy and healthy.
Fun Farm Fact: Did you know that New Jersey earned its nickname, "The Garden State," because it used to receive 1 inch of rain reliably every week, making it an excellent place for agriculture?
Let's ensure our gardens thrive throughout August by providing them with the water they need. Happy gardening!
